Newcastle becomes the next city to see a new MagiKats Tuition Centre open!

A new MagiKats private tuition centre has opened in Newcastle North covering Heaton and High Heaton, Gosforth, Benton, Killingworth, Newcastle Great Park and the surrounding areas. The MagiKats Newcastle North centre will be run by experienced teacher Karen Davey and is accepting student enrolments now.

MagiKats offers out-of-school tutoring in maths and English for any child from pre-school to GCSE. Weekly, interactive workshops help children and teenagers improve their subject skills and study skills. The workshops support the school curriculum and provide a core skills development programme. With study skills, thinking skills and problem-solving skills included at every level, the effect of the MagiKats programmes spreads across all subjects. Each child is also provided with a different programme to follow, meaning the work is created specifically for each individual and the mixture of written work, interactive activities and group discussion is enhanced with 1 to 1 support as appropriate.

Karen has worked as a primary school teacher for seven years and has also worked as a private tutor, in business administration and run her own childminding business. She explained what inspired her to launch this new tuition centre:

“I was attracted to the MagiKats programme, interactive workshops and the quality of the resources.  I am passionate about encouraging children to be engaged, happy and healthy learners and love to be part of those ‘lightbulb’ moments when something just clicks!  I want to inspire confident young people who can reach their potential. I am looking forward to bringing my business to other local families and being able to make a difference by helping children to reach their full potential and develop a love of learning.”

Karen has lived in and around Heaton and Gosforth for the past 28 years.  Her own children, now in their twenties, attended local schools.
