MagiKats Tutoring announces franchisee-led recruitment initiative
MagiKats Tutoring, a leading provider of private tuition workshops in maths and English, has announced that its franchisees in Lincoln, Katie Christopher and Ronnie Byrne, will spearhead the company’s franchise recruitment efforts. Drawing on their first-hand experience as franchise owners, they will play a pivotal role in connecting with prospective franchisees and sharing the unique benefits of joining the nationwide network.

When you place an enquiry with MagiKats about starting your own business, either Katie or Ronnie will be in touch to talk you through the business opportunity and draw on their own experience of running a MagiKats centre.
Sarah Marsh, Director of Operations said, “By placing recruitment in the hands of Katie and Ronnie, we’re able to ensure future MagiKats owners can gain unique insights directly from our existing franchisees. Their enthusiasm for teaching and drive to grow their business is infectious and so they’re excellent ambassadors for the network. The initiative shows our commitment to sustainable expansion and highlights the trust and confidence we have in our franchisees to help shape the future of the brand.”
MagiKats Tutoring has been established for more than 20 years and provides educational support for children of all ages, offering small group workshops in maths and English that build skills, boost confidence, and inspire a lifelong love of learning.
Katie and Ronnie joined the network two years ago. While studying at university, Katie worked for MagiKats in Hove as a mentor, and it was this positive experience that led her to aspire to running her own centre. After completing her degree and spending time as a 1-2-1 private tutor, she returned to her home town of Lincon, joining partner Ronnie to take the leap of starting their own business. Ronnie’s previous career in hospitality and publishing gave him valuable business skills that they’ve been able to utilise when running their own MagiKats centre.
Ronnie said, “We’re excited to be the first port of call for prospective franchisees. Being still relatively new to the network, we’ve got recent experience of starting from the ground up in our location and so can offer valuable advice and support to new recruits joining the network.”
“It's MagiKats Tutoring’s unique family orientated and supportive network that really sets it apart from other tuition franchises,” Katie added. “Beyond its appeal to students and parents, it provides a strong benefit for new franchisees with HQ support and the franchise network on hand to help you every step of the journey. Plus, of course, the franchise package covers everything needed to offer effective and engaging tuition, from proven education programmes to structured guidance on business planning and operational support.”
Ronnie continued, “For us, we wanted to really hit the ground running and so fully dedicated 100% to our business. As the saying goes, ‘you get what you put in’ and that focus has enabled us to exceed our original targets and run multiple workshops four days a week at our own dedicated premises. That said, the MagiKats model is flexible, others may choose to grow at a different pace, perhaps starting part time alongside teaching, supplementing their income, or building their tutoring business around family commitments. The opportunity allows franchisees to shape their business in the way that best fits their lifestyle and goals.”
MagiKats Tutoring is a member of the British Franchise Association and The Tutors’ Association. Franchisees operate within territory areas and can offer in-person or remote tutoring. With almost 30% of children receiving tuition of some kind during their schooling, the private tuition market is a multi-billion pound sector that continues to grow.
Sarah concluded, “We want more children to experience the benefits of our education programmes and so are looking for additional franchisees to support this. While it may seem natural to assume franchisees need a teaching background, it isn’t essential. Comprehensive training in the MagiKats systems and educational programme is provided as part of the franchise package. What matters most is a passion for education and a genuine enjoyment of working with children.”
